review 1: Rebekah is a new to me author and I was pleasantly surprised by her writing style.I wasn't sure I was going to like the entire vampire, sister sorority thing, but the author pulled it off wonderfully.I enjoy the characters, the plot was interesting. The sex scenes were smoking hot, and beautifully written. Sensual.I would definitely recommend this story to others, and look forward to reading more books by this author.
review 2: This is a story of discovering love and yet, with each one of Weatherspoon's rich characters, love is a given from the very start. Ginger is a smart, witty, self-aware young woman on an exquisite journey, and Camila a wise soul whose been around long enough to know just how precious her new girlfriend really is. Ginger grapples with inse... morecurities and her attachment to her demon-angel love, while remaining true to herself. For that reason alone I found her to be a rare and powerful kind of heroine. This was my first lesbian vampire sorority story (a niche Weatherspoon might own all by herself) and I was really impressed with how well-crafted the settings were. I don't want to spoil anything by naming locations, but each is richly drawn and completely engaging. Put simply, I was 'in it', with the characters, the whole way.For me the mark of a great story is not one that keeps me up all night (I like those too, but they don't tend to stay with me) but one that is so vividly imagined, it lingers when I'm away from it and makes me wonder where the characters are and how they're doing. Luckily book #2 is waiting for me already!Better Off Red is a sensual tale that draws you deep within it's house of lust, blood, reverence and most of all love. less
