review 1: E una dintre putinele carti cu nuvele pe care le-am citit, dar, spre deosebire de altele, mi-a placut. Nu la fel de mult ca alte carti de-ale lui Schmitt pe care le-am citit, dar toate cele 4 nuvele au reusit sa ma tina interesata pana la final. Preferata mea e Intoarcerea, dar cred ca se datoreaza sensibilitatii mele la povestile care au un tata in centru. Toate transformarile prin care trec personajele din fiecare nuvela sunt destul de realiste, desi la un moment dat mi-a trecut prin cap o comparatie cu Coelho. Dupa care am citit paginile din jurnalul lui Schmitt, in care vorbeste despre respingerea acestui tip de scriere. Am inteles ca nu-i lucru usor nici sa comprimi actiunea, renuntand la descrieri si detalii inutile. Nu-i usor sa redai esentialul intr-un mod concis. ... moreO sa apreciez altfel nuvelele dupa ce-am citit explicatia lui.
review 2: This is the second book by this author i have read and I have to say I could not put it down. Each of the short stories could be a book of it's own but still you can link them by a common theme - sense of rejection or isolation and a reflection on that. What is intriguing in all these stories is that we are a witness to this reflection, but the characters do not behave in a predictable way. A thoroughly enjoyable read. less
