review 1: Okay, I'm done with this book. I'm not even going to finish reading it! This book has its ups and downs, but mostly downs. There are times in this book where there's an amazing archeological exploration, followed by some Okay action. HOWEVER, the rest of the time you spent your time reading about Daniel (protagonist) and his "awful" life. Yet, the dude is filthy rich and conceited. Simply put, skip this book and go read something else. I literally have about 50 pages left and I'm not even looking forward to finishing it. There's nothing compelling to keep me going...
review 2: This book was really good! I could barely put it down. It is a very fast paced, intelligent story about really interesting stuff. I am dying to read book #2, but have to wait until 2016!
... moreYou can preorder it already though? I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good conspiracy theory mixed with religion and maybe aliens. My only criticism is that because the story moves along so quickly that the main character doesn't take much time to contemplate the loss of family and friends the story feels somewhat inauthentic because of it. He just moves on with his quest with seemingly no emotional scars. I found myself thinking more about those losses when I wasn't reading the book than the character does. Still 5 stars though! I thoroughly enjoyed it! less

Reminded me a little of the DaVinci code. Has an unexpected ending.

A good fantasy read. I lost myself in the story.
