review 1: Having loved the movies, I have finally begun reading her books and couldn’t believe how prodigious a writer she was. I was sure there was a ghost writer somewhere. Happy to report I was wrong. Her life was as intriguing as her books. She was certainly correct in referring to herself as a sausage machine. She churned out books so quickly. I listened to the audio. At first I felt the narrator took away from the book. He was obviously theater trained and had that wonderful British accent. He made it seem as if the book was a story instead of a non-fiction biography. I changed my mind as I continued listening…and I felt it was a good match. The book starts off with her disappearance…which confused me. I thought it was a short story. I had to check the cd order. Thi... mores book gave satisfied me with lots of background and details…I may read her own autobiography now. I’d love to know how she perceived her life.
review 2: Hmmm...I delayed writing my review for this to see if I felt differently later - I don't. My major complaint has to do with proof reading - putting the Grand Canyon in Colorado is inexcusable and made me wonder how many other errors the book contains, which is unfortunate since up to that point, I was enjoying the story. While this is perhaps a good into. to A. Christie for someone who has never read her, I think her own autobiography is better. less

If you love Agatha Christie then you need to read this even if it is unauthorized.

A detailed, although sometimes salaciously-driven, narrative.
