review 1: I enjoyed this book but it wasn't the best. It wasn't one of my favorites. The book was good from the very beginning, but the thing is, there was nothing in the book to really captivate me. I felt like nothing really happened in the book, because the characters perspectives and narrators were switched so often that not one particular character was exceptionally described nor their personality flushed out. I won't read this book again, and it wasn't really that memorable. I wouldn't recommend it to friends, but I didn't hate it. Sad to say, I was expecting more of it. I don't even care enough about the book to write a synopsis on it. I just didn't hate it which is why it's 3 stars. I feel, blah.
review 2: You never know what to expect of debut novels, but this o
... morene is worth the read. The characters are realistically drawn-in fact, they could be people that I know from equally dysfunctional families. Kate, who raised her siblings when mom and dad couldn't be bothered, now focuses on her legal career and is emotionally distant. When she tries to reach out to train wreck, alcoholic Finn (who is a waste of space for most of the book), it is a disaster. My favorite characters were George, the gay brother who doesn't think he deserves to be happy and Amy, the youngest, who seems trapped in the past of their childhoods. less

It slugs along, a good story over all, but had a difficult time sticking with it.
