review 1: After buying a dilapidated church in Virgin River, Reverend Noah Kincaid puts an ad in the local paper to get some help. When he meets Ellie Baldwin, "Pastor's Assistant" is not what springs to mind. The former stripper is in desperate need of a respectable job so she can regain custody of her children, so Noah decides to give her a chance to prove herself.This was another good book in the Virgin River series. I liked both Noah & Ellie and their story was interesting. The secondary story was about Paul being named guardian of his former girlfriend's baby. When Vanni finds out she is very upset. Vannie is not one of my favorite characters in this series, but I could see where she would not be happy about suddenly gaining custody of a baby. My rating: 4 S... moretars.
review 2: Robyn Carr's Virgin River Series are sweet, love stories that generally have some conflict that needs to be solved and this book was no exception. A new (good looking)minister comes to town and buys the run-down church and before long is looking for an assistant. In steps Ellie, an ex-stripper looking to recover the custody of her 2 children she lost rights to to her psycho ex-husband. And there you have it. No surprises here, but for what the book is, it is written well and very down to earth. People get angry, they swear, they mess up, they are selfish, they are PEOPLE, which is why I continue to return to this series and other books by Robyn Carr when I am looking for a lighter read. less
