review 1: This is the ninth book in the Virgin River series. Noah buys a church in Virgin River off of ebay. He talks his superiors into buying the building if he pays for repairs. They go for it! He needs an assistant so he advertises for one. He gets three interested women. One is too old and cannot handle fixing up the building. One is a sour puss and the last is a bit racy looking. He tells the ladies he will let them know. Then he goes to Jack's for dinner and sees the racy looking lady, Ellie, in there. He stops to talk to her and finds out that she really needs the job. Her ex-husband but not the father of her children, took the kids away from her. He is a bad man but the judge thought she was a bad woman because she was working in a strip club and refused the judge's advanc... morees. Noah has to help her and as he gets to know her, he falls for her. She is a wonderful woman. Soon all of Virgin River comes to love her and they are there for her when Ellie really needs them.
review 2: Great book about how Noah, who never wanted to be a preacher because of his evangelist TV preacher father, ended up being a preacher, and moved to Virgin River and purchased an old church off ebay. And then he hired Ellie who had worked at a strip joint to take care of her 2 children, who she had at a very young age, and their step-father took them away from her in a custody battle which he won because she wouldn't do additional "work" on the judge who came into the strip club. She dressed in very tight-fitting clothes, but was an incredible worker, and helped Noah paint and clean the church and get it ready for the opening ceremony which was a wedding. During this time, Noah and Ellie fell in love, and then Noah asked her to marry him. Luckily, the step-father was a jerk, who locked the kids inside his house with locks on the outside of the doors so they could not escape. The same things had happened to him when he was a youngster. He was a mental mess, and was arrested, not only for endangering the children and leaving them alone, but also for previous problems in other states. And he took a psychiatric professor's name who he had almost stalked when he was in college, and used it as his own to avoid the law. So he was in a mess. So Ellie got her children back, and all was great because the town fell in love with her as well. less

I liked this book. I didn't love it. I hated Ellie's accent / the way she spoke.

I'm really enjoying this series, and each book is better than the one before
