review 1: Love in the Low CountryCountry girl turned city slicker, Kara Newell never expected that she would spend any of her vacation any other place other than visiting her parents. However, when she is summoned to the Low Country of South Carolina to the reading of the will for a man she has never met, Kara soon learns the life she knows will forever be changed. Upon inheriting the family estate on Cavanaugh Island from a father she never knew existed, Kara must come to grips with the lies her mother told, the new family that does not seem so willing to see this stranger take over the estate and a new friendship with the Island Sheriff, ex-marine Jeffrey Hamilton. Jeffrey's intentions are to keep an eye on the new island inhabitant, but it soon becomes much more to the two of the... morem.I fell in love with Rochelle Alers’ “Angels Landing” from the description alone. With the Low Country setting, budding romance, small town gossip and hint of mystery, this story was well developed and held my interest. I was able to put myself on Cavanaugh Island and get lost in the pages. The Low Country girl in me loved this story and would recommend this to others as well.Reviewed by: Lashonda
review 2: Kara Newell gets a call asking her to come to South Carolina for the reading of a will. When David Sullivan, the lawyer, reads the will, she is told that Taylor Patton was her father, and has left her nearly everything he owned, with a few conditions, including restoring Angels Landing and live there for five years. She agrees to stay for a week and then decide what to do with her inheritance. Jeffrey Hamilton is David’s cousin. David asks him to check on Kara because the rest of the Patton family was upset, calling her an imposter, and threatening to contest the will. Jeff is immediately interested in Kara, and they get involved. I liked how she agreed to stay for awhile to think about whether to keep the property or not, instead of just selling. I enjoyed this book. less
