Bachelorette Party
review 1: Book Review - Sucked Into Love by Rochelle Paige - 4 sweet yet bossy starsWhen Andrew sees Josie at her Bachelorette party he is instantly drawn to her. Tired of the easy one night stands, Josie is the first person to make him sit up and take notice and want something more than one night. So when a chance encounter later reveals that Josie’s party was fake and that she was free and single, Andrew sets his sights on getting immediate gratification of what he wanted, her. By the end of the meeting, he has steamrollered her into a date.Boy is Andrew a possessive alpha. At times, he was too much for me, and I felt like sticking my hand up and saying ‘woo boy, back up a second.’ I’m all for an alpha in the bedroom and a man who stands up for himself, but when they try t... moreo commandeer every part of a persons live, then I would have to call that slightly stalkery and a bit too much. Saying that, I see how he is the way he is. At the top of his game in his profession, he had everything thrown his way, then opening the clubs up and having the success with them, he’s used to saying jump and being asked ‘how high?’Luckily for Josie, she likes his full on Alpha bossy pants, and so here we have a sweet love story fast-forwarding through a relationship at the speed of light. Now here, some might say that this might be the part that they found unbelievable, but I guess that depends on whether it’s happened to you. Personally, within 4 months of meeting my hubby, we were living together and I know quite a few others who made the moves even sooner, so that bit of the story actually totally worked for me.I liked Josie. I felt like she leaned on Andrew and let him lead the way so much, because she felt she’d finally found someone she could put her trust in after being let down badly before. I would have liked to have seen more of her and Cee-Cee together as we’re told what a great friend she’s been but we don’t really spend a lot of time with her in this book. I didn’t feel like I really got to know Cee-Cee, although from hints in this book, i’d say that she’s going to feature pretty heavily in a follow up.It’s a well known fact that i’m not a fan of sickly sweet books and at times this book teetered on the brink for me but it managed to just stay on my good side. This book was read as a standalone by me, as although I own The Blythe College books, I haven’t read them yet. And after reading this, that’s another thing I need to stick into my blog schedule (catch up on series!).If you love a nice sweet love story, with hot sex and one bossy alpha, then you should totally buy this book.
review 2: I'm not a fan of love at first sight stories because they seem to be more about insta-attraction/lust than about love. However there was something about this blurb that made me want to read this book more than my dislike of the instalust monster, and I'm glad I listened to that voice.I really liked Jocelyn. She's a hard worker and a great friend. She's kind and sincere and I hated to learn how her life had been after the death of her mother. Tragedy usually shows us different faces of the people we know and love, and the one she saw was really hard to take. I love how she never gave up on her father though. She kept trying even if he wasn't willing. I liked Andrew too. I would've thought she and Alec were a better couple given their history, but it seems Alec's heart has already been stolen by someone else. Andrew was a bit too cave man like for my taste, but I love how he was able to back down a little whenever Jocelyn explained to him why she was doing or thinking things. The story was hot and there was plenty of sex, but I like how it didn't go completely over the top. Another thing I liked about the book was things flowed well and the plot twists. There were a few I didn't see coming and some I did.I read this book in no time and liked the mix of characters. I'm really looking forward to reading Jason and Cee-Cee's story. I'm also very happy to have enjoyed my first Rochelle Paige book and look forward to combing through her back list to find other books I may have missed out on. less
