review 1: This book is the first in a series. I enjoyed the characters and the content, but there's a lot of repetition from the author when getting her point across. Throughout the book, there are constant reminders of the character's actions or thoughts.However, that said, I believe I'll continue to read future books about the heroine (Halloween LaVeau) and her challenging trials and errors as a quirky witch and the Leader of the Underworld.These books are meant to be enjoyed, so I can agree that they accomplish that.Some books are serious, tedious reads, but necessary to the world of fiction...this is light, fun and paranormal sexy.
review 2: 2.5 stars Positives: the author has a great storyline here, along with the potential for a fun series. The plot moves along a... moret a great pace, with little cliffhangers at each chapter to keep you reading. Her lead character is also fun. Negatives: the supporting characters are flat, especially the men. I just didn't feel anything for the men. Also, this book is desperately in need of an editor. Every paragraph has repeating words and phrases. less
