review 1: This is such a great read! This one goes gk my fave shelf!! I Cant even..!! This was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, I loved being in everyones mind especially Zack's and David's but mostly Zach's. Everything he went through.. For five years enduring that kind of pain and abuse, over and over and over... My heart ached for Zach's. I loved his parents too. And I loved David! He was good for Zach! I loved this *^* !!
review 2: Let me just say when you start this book be someplace comfortable because you will not want to move until it is done. This is one of those stories that isn't an easy read but it is so worth it. If you like your stories chock full of emotion than this is one for you.At fifteen years old Zach is kidnapped while going to visit his aunt in Co... morest Rica. The next five years are hell here on earth for him and the fact that he survives is a miracle. David was Zach's best friend. The two were inseparable even though David is a few years older than Zach. When Zach kisses David it triggers a lot of emotions in the then eighteen year old. The fear of that emotion is what has David agreeing with Zach's parents that sending Zach away for a bit of maturing might be the best thing. Then the unthinkable happens and Zach is taken and David thinks he is dead.Coming home might be harder to live through than the last 5 years.This was one of those books that left me completely wrung out. I felt like I had run an emotional marathon. Yes there is hurt and anger and devastation, but there is also hope and love and strength. So much strength. Not just from Zach but his parents and David too. This journey isn't easy on any of them.This book is tragically beautiful and one that I will definitely recommend. less
