review 1: With a storyline like this I expected to be more emotionally involved in Zach and David's story, but I found it quite hard in that respect. I felt sorry for Zach for his ordeal and for David over the guilt he felt. I also felt sorry for the possible romance they missed out on with Zach's disappearance.That being said I didn't really connect with them or the story.I did like the interaction between the two guys; some of the things they said to each other in their more tender moments were really sweet.I'd definitely consider reading more books by the author.
review 2: I liked just about everything about this book. Here are the things I found trying. There was a constant thread of misunderstanding between David and Zach. Once or twice is okay but they misread each... more other more times than Erica Cain fell in love ( All My Children reference )The other thing that bothered me was because there was a reference twice in the book that David had designed the software micro chip thingy in the hostage taken dutch guy that lead to the raid on the compound where Zach was being held....and the was the whole reason that the Tyler family got their son back..... and David was struggling to buy a second hand car and the Tylers were going to make a gazzilion dollars of the design, I kept expecting there to be a moment where Zach's dad gave David a big ass check for the royalty's on the design. Hell is it was me a billionaire I would have been giving that kid his earned reward when Zach came home. Maybe there will be a sequel where Zach and David are together in California and that happens. I know it's dumb but I kept wondering why Zach's dad had not given the ownership of the royalty's of the micro chip thingy to David. It would have been a nice moment.Dumb but little things like that screw me up. less
