review 1: I really enjoyed this one. It's been awhile since I've read an old fashion love story. Ok, not so old fashion with the M/M theme, but still a good historical fantasy.Took a few pages to get use to ye olde language, but once that was over come, sat back and enjoy Christopher's & Dafydd's relationship unfold.Had a couple of lol moments with descriptions of old. Especially when someone considered themselves clean cause they took a bath once a week! What would really be great, with a good narrator, if this was turned into an audio. At least I could figure out how the Welsh names were pronounced.Would recommend to those who love historical Middle Ages romances. Off to pick up the sequel!
review 2: This is one of those stories I was anticipating very highly. A period
... more piece about kings and knights with the central characters being gay. I guess I was expecting to much since I was sorely disappointed in almost all aspects of this work. The character development was bad, the plot was overused and unoriginal and the dialogue was ridiculous. And, top that off with a bunch of ridiculous sex scenes. This was one of those novels I considered putting down before I had finished. But, I kept at it until the end. I'm just glad it's over so I can start something more worth my time.My recommendation: pass this one up unless everything else on your bookshelf has been read and you just happen to be going through reading withdrawals. less

I love the "slow pace" of this book. Most of all I love the happy ending!
