review 1: I really liked the book. It was very detailed. It's amazing what some parents will do for their children especially those with special needs. The one thing I didn't like about it was the description of his son, he would say my autistic son which I have learned you should be the person before the diagnosis. My son who has autism is more politically correct in my world anyway. It's a good read.
review 2: Interesting book, but I'm not sure how true the heal of Rowan is. Rupert takes his autict son, a movie crew and his wife on a trip to Mongolia to see the Shamans and the wild horse of Mongolia after seeing the affect the neighbor's horse has on Rowan. Rowan changes dramatically from being unable to use a bathroom, have friends, stop his tantrums, to becoming a
... moreyoung boy who can interact with others, use a bathroom and control his temper in most situation. I don't believe th changes in Rowan could happen in the three weeks of the trip after seeing the students with autism at my former school. If it worked this way, I wish every child would have this opportunity. less
