review 1: Liked the character of Olivia Parker but felt the writer needed to develop the character of Joshua Warren more. His character mostly resulted from his connection to Olivia and what she was doing. The book had some similarities to The Hunger Games and Divergent but I thought it held it’s own as a story. I liked it better than Divergent.I also liked the short chapters and the twist towards the end. Will probably read the next one, hoping Joshua has more character.
review 2: Reading Aberrant was like watching a train wreck: you know it's horrible and that you should look away, but you just can't. The fact that Silver decided to throw every "successful" element of the YA genre only added to the gore of the crash. I honestly expect aliens and vampires in the next on
... moree. And I actually bought the next one, because sometimes I just need something this bad to numb my brain for a couple of hours. I mean, the flacid, cookie cutter characters and the astringently, eye-crossingly awful writing is enough to make me cackle for hours. less

Very good book, I got very wrapped up in the story and read the first 300 page in one evening.
