review 1: I love football and I love zombies. After reading the back cover and seeing accolades from some good authors, I thought...why not? Sophomoric humor, characters you wish would get killed early on and no redeeming story. I gave it two stars because of zombies and football. I am amazed this book is getting good reviews. Told the premise to my family and they couldn't believe it. Oh well, at least I bit the bullet so you won't have to.
review 2: I gave up on this one about halfway through. Maybe I'd have enjoyed it more if I were 17 and thought that detailed descriptions of football pranksters and girls' hemlines were the essence of novel writing. The voodoo woman who resurrects cats was the best part, I thought, but the story just didn't hold my attention. And th... moreis book got very good reviews from the Dallas Morning News (which is why I got it). Others seemed to enjoy it, though, so maybe I'm just not in the know. less
