review 1: 4.5 stars, but I'll round up. :-) I really liked the way this author tackled some sensitive topics (especially in the LDS community) and thought he made some great points. I appreciated that the main character made mistakes and then tried to correct them. I liked the different relationships portrayed -- father/son, friends, father/daughter. My biggest complaint (and a very minor one) is that the chapters didn't really feel like blog entries to me with all the dialogue and everything -- it just read like a first person narrative (which was okay!). Great story!
review 2: LOVED IT!! Every time I read a few pages, I wondered how a male author could so perfectly nail the details, and the emotions in this book. It spoke so well! I loved the characters, and found ... moremyself laughing with them. As a parent, I loved the interactions with the parents and his kids. As a Mormon, I loved the way he tackled hard subjects, and as a Cubmaster, I loved the descriptions of scouting (and the scout office!!) I could hardly put it down...and have already lent my copy out or I would be reading it again. Highly recommend it!! less
