review 1: This novel is definitely a book worth reading for! I was looking for a light read but damn this book got me hooked up. Riley reminds me of myself when I was in high school. I was also a varsity player, in volleyball. Being in the court with the whole people watching your every move, those people who cheered and criticizing your abilities makes all the players feel alive. The tension, nervousness, and all the fears of facing the real game was a nerve wrecking moment. But being with your team and knowing that they're with you, the commitment, the trust and faith that you have to each other will lead your team up to your goal. Our coach used to tell us that win or loose as along us we knew in ourselves we gave our best shot in every nanosecond of the game and we did had fun a... morend learned and experienced things together, we are all champions. College did a a lot of changes in me. I became of a bookworm and less of a jock (I became a slug due to the tons of book that I have to study *perks of being a med student*). Reading this book made me miss the vibe of being with my team and the foundation that we formed, and most of all I missed the crowd and having the ball in your hands as if your future lies next to it.This is definitely a must read to all players/non- players out there! I just hope that there will be a sequel though I'm already happy about the ending... but still 5 starts for this book! Never underestimate yourself, you'll never know what your capabilities are. Don't think too much, just do it!
review 2: It has been several very long months in which I didn't find a book as good as this one to read. I enjoyed it from start to finish and loved the main characters Emma and Riley. The author created a beautiful story and I am grateful to her for his. The story even made me cry while reading some parts (it doesn't happen often for me to cry over a book), the most memorable one being in the scene where Emma asks her father to buy her sneakers and knows from start she will be rejected. I sincerely recommend the book as excellent read. less

Cried the whole book. I hoped that it would end with her being able to attend college, but alas.
