review 1: Age Recommendation: 6+"Two cow stories! Three cow poems! Eleven or so cow jokes! One cow myth! One cow comic book! Find the hidden cows! Way too many unexplained chickens!" That's how this absurd non-fiction book for kids begins, and it gets more ridiculous from there. Kids should love learning weird, not actually true, facts about cows when they're presented like this. My favorite is the scientific diagrams detailing the four stages of metamoophosis, from egg to "udderfly."
review 2: Cows, cows, cows. I think I'll die laughing. I'm trying to pick my favorite things in this book, but they are all so funny. (Perhaps the Hol-Steinway piano? The Adventures of Amazing Cow? The really-loud chicken and the confusing duck? Or was it a really-loud duck and a conf... moreusing chicken?)Yes, some are funny/dumb, but in a great way. Because it is *meant* to be funny/dumb. And some is funny/clever. And lots is funny/silly. Overall, just pure, unadulterated, wonderful Boynton. A++++. less
