review 1: Xoe was an interesting adventure with paranormal characters galore. Even with the many characters, Roethle managed to give each one an unique personality. I really enjoyed the variety of paranormal characters-Vampires, Werewolves and Demons-in the story. And others were mentioned, too. Maybe that is a hint of what is to come in the rest of the series. Roethle punches you in the gut with overwhelming emotions as the characters respond to their unbelievable situation. Believable characters, real emotions, and adrenaline-packed fight scenes have me jumping and screaming for more Xoe Meyers!
review 2: This book was a freebie from one of the e-book deal daily emails I receive. I would say it’s hit or miss with these free books, but rarely a hit and usually a miss
... more, is a better description. A lot of times I have to force myself to read further than the first 10 pages of the book before I toss it to the side. Sometimes there is a little intrigue so I continue on, and rarely (very rare) I start reading a book and get hooked from the start. This was one of those books that hooked me.Alexondra, nicknamed Zoe, is a young girl embarking on a new year of school. She’s not interested in clothes, popularity, or much of what a typical girly-girl likes. She likes horror movies, no matter if high-budget or B-budget. What she is looking forward to is another year of school with her two best friends, Alison and Lucy. From the first day of school she meets Dan and soon after that, Jason. One of the two boys she takes an immediate dislike to, and the other one, as much as she tries to fight it, an attraction is there. Something changes in one of her best friends and she stands by her side, actually, more than just by her side. When something changes in Zoe, will her best friends do the same for her? What changes? You’ll have to read to find out. Through twists, turns, and secrets revealed, the author takes us on a supernatural ride that will keep you guessing page by page. I for one could not put it down (oh how I hated it when life interrupted my journey with this novel!). The characters are well-formed and realistic, as realistic as the supernatural can be that is. This is in the Young Adult Genre, but I would read it again even though I am far past that stage in my life. I will also proudly read other books in this series as I want to see what Xoe and her friends are up to.Well done Sara Roethle, well done! less
