review 1: Weird and confusing, I felt like there was too much going on in this book. The paranormal/secret society/ancient civilization aspects would have been cool on its own, but once the author introduced the almost dystopic setting it started to get a bit much. The writing was a bit hard to follow, although I realize that was probably intentional, and I couldn't really relate to any of the characters. This was an okay read, but nothing really special--if the plot had been just a little more streamlined, it would have been so much better.
review 2: Ok...so this book was started about...6 moths ago...then it went back onto my shelf because I just simply get into it...then one rainy day I picked it back up, and finished it within the day! I'd broken through the "slow" b
... moreeginning and was pushing to a wild epic tale that sometimes left me reeling with emotions of shock, confusion and love...but nothing could take away the eerie undertones and wonderful story world created. I wish I'd persisted with when I first picked up the book, hating myself for depriving myself of this wonderful story. less
