The Kiss Off
review 1: Who hasn't been dumped on by a guy and then wanted to get revenge? The only difference here is when Poppy writes her "he done me wrong" lyrics a hot up and coming band here it and turn her song into a #1 hit! How fantastic right? Well its a case of be careful what you wish for and that is what makes this story so great. As the novel progress you learn that maybe the ex wasn't that bad and didn't really deserve what was said about him, and maybe attaining fame isn't all its cracked up to be, and maybe the new guy you want to be perfect, isn't perfect after all? Its about growing up, forgiving and learning what you really want sometimes take effort, I really enjoyed being on this journey and would recommend it to those searching for a YA romance with a bit of surprise t... moreo it.
review 2: 3.5 StarsThis is a YA book that, while not particularly deep, is an enjoyable read. The story is dramatized but most stories with celebrities are. I enjoyed the fact that the heroine was talented and, for the most part, grounded. There are actually some good teaching points in it regarding discretion in the internet age and sexting but really the story focuses on the ups and downs of a surreal relationship. It has a bit of a Cinderella feel in that things seem to change overnight but the author doesn't gloss over the negative aspects of fame. less
