review 1: I have read a lot of Alice in Wonderland retellings and most rarely ever live up to the hype but this is not one of them! This was a unique dark and interesting modern day retelling. I liked the dual narrative because you are able to see Alice or Al and Ryley's reactions to varying events. I think that Ryley and Al's interactions were beautifully written. I loved that Ryley simultaneously wanted to strangle and kiss Alice at the same time.
review 2: With a magical imagination Sarah Pepper takes us to a land where anything can , and usually does, happen, and nothing is what it seems. Good guys--bad guys--who will win and who will survive ? I will not ruin the suspense for you--so read it yourself to find out but prepare to stay alert and on the edge of your s... moreeat as you can't wait to turn to the next page. Sarah keeps the reader not just interested, but invested in the storyline so that each new page is a new adventure. Fun, with suspense, and definitely a twisted turn on an old fairytale. Hopefully we will see much more of Sarah's writing in the near future to keep us entertained. Congratulations Sarah on a fine piece of writing from a wonderful young author. less
