review 1: I thought the story was a good one, and I especially liked the fact that it happened "in the islands". I thought that when Ryan "confessed" that he was D.R. MacFarland was kind of a special moment between him and Daniel. I did like it. And while I appreciate the romance that was happening, I did not really appreciate the "lie" between the two. That Daniel was actually the owner of the hotel where Ryan was staying, and a "leader in the community" was something that should have been shared. Would the story have been as interesting? Most certainly not; but it would have been the thing to do. I was finally glad when Ryan let his editor/agent/bitch have it though... she was a bit trying. I still liked the story, and I realize that there was a "role-play" tag on it, but I was... moren't quite looking for that kind of role play in the story.
review 2: I really liked this story. So many anthology stories are just "they meet, exchange a few quips, have sex, maybe they'll stay together" and I simply won't take the time to read many of them anymore. I much prefer a story with some meat--which this one is! It has a little hurt/comfort, an interesting subplot with Ryan's agent, of course the hawt sex, and then a great twist at the end. I enjoy the multiple layers Sarah has in her stories. less
