review 1: Some men just stand out above the others, not due of looks or talents (but a bonus) but because they have honor. Something that is hard to find when the west is so untamed and men make there own rules. In the crossfire of two men intent on having it all they will stop at nothing to have control over her inheritance, dead or alive, yet preferred dead since they have a bonus. Enough said, highly recommended and a great read. Next book please....
review 2: I don't know what it was about this book exactly, but I KNOW it was supposed to be heart-wrenching, but the writing just made it fall flat in too many places.Tracker knew from the moment he heard about Ari that he was somehow destined to be her savoir and HEA (from his Indian spirit background) and when we final
... morely meet Ari, the picture is painted that she also 'knew' she was destined for Tracker. The story should have been more sensual and spiritual than it was. Even when they spoke to each other, it felt chopy and forced. I still loved the story for a lot of reasons. It had love, devotion, family, growth, understanding, and of course, Ari came home not just physically, but mentally as well. The book just didn't flow for me. Like I said, the writing was chopy and WAY too many times I would start a chapter and I would have to think ... wait, what? did time just lapse?....and it had. But it never eluded tot hat. SO You were always playing catch-up when you started each chapter as to what happened in between.SO far I've read Caine's story and now Tracker's and I still think as a whole, the Hell's Eight concept/story will be a hit, but individually I am not impressed so far.PS...I read them out of order because I couldn't wait to read about Ari coming come to Desi ... And I learned from that, that you can read these books on their own and they won't interfere with the flow of the Hell's Eight stories. However, I would recommend starting with the first book, Caine's Reckoning, as it tells you the most detail on the who what when where and why of 'Hell's Eight'. less
