review 1: I don’t normally read erotica, but I picked this one up out of curiosity and because the author said it was one of her more character oriented stories. I loved it!As someone who isn’t fully familiar with erotica as a genre, I’m not going to try and speak about the book in those terms. Rather, I’m going to speak of the book as a great story.White paints a world and characters that are so believable, I almost feel I could bump into them on the street. Kelsey is drawn exquisitely from her playful attitude to the darkness she hides inside to the desires she isn’t even fully aware she possesses. Harlan, the painter who starts watching Kelsey, fascinated by the real, sensuous woman she conceals from most of the world, is scrumptious. He is perceptive enough to see thro... moreugh Kelsey’s games and good-hearted enough for me to cheer for him all the way, despite his what should be creepy but comes off as endearing tendencies to spies on Kelsey during her sex games and most vulnerable moments.But beyond the characters, what made My Prerogative such a great read is how well White took Kelsey from lonely bartender with half an addiction to having sex with strangers to a whole woman who finds acceptance and love, her unusual tendencies included. It made me feel for her, sympathize with her, and smile in satisfaction by the end.I highly recommend this one for erotica fans and for anyone who loves a great story with complex characters and a lot of heart. This one sold me on Sasha White as an author, and I will be reading more of her books.
review 2: Kelsey is like the wild girl who have slower psychological pace timing than her age pace time. She's trapped in her wild partying age, where she should learn to accept to be less wild as she grow more older. The great thing about her is that she knows her sensuality and she play it right. I mean, the solo sex at the balcony then holding her phone number? there's the probability she going to get the calls from the entire flats across hers, but she still do it anyway. That is brave, and sexy!the Hero is a great balance for her, he is more introvert, a complete contrast to what Kelsey is. But this oh-so-mysterious introvert lay a great passion and understanding for Kelsey to hold on to, when she's in doubt.Will Kelsey hang on to her Wild Party lifestyle, or will she tone it down?Will the hero have his Muse by the end of the story?Only one way to find out... less
