review 1: I read this series in an omnibus version. 1,2 & 3 just flowed into each other. In theory this story was interesting, but the substance is lacking. I am a big fan of romance of any kind, and when it comes with characters that are Rock gods, well that's just the ultimate. It wasn't the language used that shocked me. I have read worse & read dirtier & harder sex scenes with more ease than this. It was the actual structure of the story telling. Some people by their reviews loved it, but I just didn't get that feeling from this.I liked Sydney, the spoilt rich girl. I loved Kasper the hot rocker. Liked the people they grew into. I have thing for tattooed rock gods. Following a rock group round the world would be the ultimate. Definitely an eye opener, but the story in ... moreplaces was a bit rushed then in others the information given was too descriptive of useless information.Disappointed I was unable to fully connect fully with this story. This story would normally be it for me. After reading I now don't agree with some of the more favourable reviews. But I recommend that others give it a read for themselves & make up their own minds.
review 2: What can I say about this book without gushing too much and without dropping any spoilers? Hmm... Let's see...This is the third and final installment in the One More Night trilogy, however, it's not the last we will hear of Kaz and Syd. Boy am I glad about that. I seriously love Kaz and Syd and I can't wait for the next tie-in series for more of them and some characters old and new telling us their stories. Now, if you haven't read the first two books, anything I say here is going to be a spoiler I guess, so with that in mind, I ask you to either a) read my reviews of FALLING INTO LUST and FALLING INTO US or b) don't read this review until you have finished reading the trilogy yourself. I always try not to spoil anything for anyone, but if you haven't read the previous books, then I'm afraid I have to say *Spoiler Alert*I was so excited to get my hands on this book. When I first read Falling Into Lust, I knew that I would read any and every book with these awesome characters in. I must admit, I fell in lust with Kaz the moment I laid my eyes on his name, Kasper Gillian. The more I learned about him, the more I became endeared to him and eventually, my lust turned into love. There are so many things that happened in this book, so many things you have to discover for yourself. In the previous two books, we saw the development of characters including Kaz, Syd, the members of Scarlet Fever and Winter's Regret, and a small cast of supporting characters, Faith and other friends of Syd's, Misty and Keren who appeared in Falling Into Us. Those books were so entertaining and have fast become some of my favourite books of late. The trilogy on the whole is right up there near the top of my Favourite Trilogy list. Selene Chardou's writing is fast-paced, gritty, captivating and sucks you in and under, submerging you in the world of Rock 'n' Roll. I admit, I've never read any other books about Rock 'n' Roll - but even if I had, I would say that this trilogy would stand out in my mind; not only because of the characters but also the intricacies tied up in the stories. Picking up Falling Into Love, I was desperate for Kaz and Syd to get their HEA, goodness knows they've worked so hard and come through so much in just a few months on tour together, they deserve the best HEA that Chardou can give them. This was yet another roller coaster of emotions that I would go back and experience time and time again. Chardou surprises you with a good ol' soccer punch to the gut from time to time, but that only adds to how in love with this book, this series, I am. In the beginning, Kaz was meant to sleep with Syd to break her virginity and nothing more. But it fast became so much more than that, much to the delight of both of them (and me). But much to the chagrin of some of the other characters. Kaz asked Syd to come on tour with them and she accepted. But if she knew then what she does now, would she make the same decision? I think, in fact no, I'm 99% certain that she would. She'd put herself through the insecurities and push herself to her boundaries and beyond, all because of the man who owns her heart, Kasper Gillian. Kaz hasn't been able to tell Syd that he loves her. He knows she loves him, but he's been through his own personal Hell that has left him broken, hurting and maybe even beyond repair. These past months on tour have put their relationship through so many tests of endurance. Syd feels happy and like she's walking on air one moment, but in the next, she feels insecure and needs constant reassurance. She loves Kaz and she wants him to love her just as much. He has a rule about never getting married again and whilst he already has a son and ex-wife, he doesn't want the same thing to happen all over again. So though he's happy with Syd, they both know it can't go to the next level. What will that mean for Syd when the tour ends? Will Kaz break her heart? Or will she manage to prove to him that she is worth the gamble?Syd is relentless in her pursuit of love from this gorgeous, broken man. Will she push him to breaking point, or will he finally cave in and give her what she wants? There are so many things I could tell you about this book, but it's better experienced first-hand, not vicariously through me. This story, along with the previous two, touched my heart. I fell in love with the colourful cast of characters. I love to hate Damira (Kaz's ex-wife), I love Jaden (member of Scarlet Fever), I love my namesake, Keren, because she's got sass. In fact, there isn't a character that I don't like. The one I came closest to hating was Faith, but occasionally she redeems herself. Then there's Seth, oh boy, he [bleep]'s me off. But the fun we experience throughout is worth the occasional outburst. If you want insight into what happens when you go on the road with a notorious rock band (or in this case, two) then this book is one for you! It's not all getting drunk or high and throwing television sets out of windows. It's also not all hearts and flowers. If you think you know what goes on behind the doors when they are firmly shut, then I would suggest you discard what you think. This trilogy will blow you away with the real deal - this is one of the things I love the most about these books, the characters are real and tangible. Chardou has given us an amazing insight into the life of Rock 'n' Roll stars and all those who enter their lives along the way. She has created some of the most memorable characters and I just can't wait for the tie-in series to be published because these books are my brand of heroin and I am already jonesing for my next fix! From the laugh out loud moments to the feeling of needing to punch someone square in the jaw (Damira) to the heart-wrenching moments between Kaz and Syd, everything about this book is remarkably well written and I believe that Selene Chardou should be well on her way to becoming a Best Selling author. The fact is, Chardou writes with guts and gumption. She expresses a lot of feeling throughout and uses her awesome characters to display this. less
