review 1: I accidentally typed my review for this book under another book title so I am copy pasting it here, for the correct book. I stumbled upon this by Google-ing "good online books" and clicking the first link which was Goodreads list of popular free online books. They all have turned out to be lgbtq and this was no different...and awful. This is very amateur and unrealistic, and much too sexually focused. I thought I liked the character at first, in his arrogant ways, and soon realized he is an unrealistically cocky fellow. Or if it is realistic at all, it's the annoyingly, embarrassing, joke-of-a-person kind of cocky. Then within the second page, the main character was already in supercharged sex scene that had no basis whatsoever.I couldn't even finish this book. I love a go... moreod, mature, realistic, coming-of-age lgbtq book- and this is not an example of that. I would consider this smut more than anything. I am currently perturbed by this book.All I can say is it is very unrealistic. On to the next one
review 2: 3 stars. I enjoyed this...it wasn't written in a way where I was completely enthralled with the characters, but I was definitely invested enough to be rooting for them and to want to see what would happen. Why is it that every time a guy starts having feelings or getting obnoxious he asks if he's turning into a girl? Ugh...anywayI liked Gunner...arrogant, confused Gunner. I did. And Jon was a good friend, I even liked his girlfriend.Gunner had a strange relationship with his brother, no? Maybe not, what do I know?Overall, I liked it. It was quick and there was sweetness and I loved the way it was written at times, because its written how he thinks versus the proper grammar. less
