review 1: I enjoyed the matter of fact way this was written. This is definitely different from other books I have read.A guy who comes out of no where and rescues a girl from being abducted. He is a hero and yet there is nothing else just a factual display of information for us. He displays no emotion or opinion just facts about the women he saves and the enemies he wants to destroy. I believe it is a story of black and white with no grey areas. That's ok I enjoyed it and it kept me interested. But I couldn't relate to the characters or see any bonds.
review 2: I liked this story,it's a great start to a series with the action perking along, even though the idea of what was going in the story was deplorable. First of all this is a story about young women who have been a
... morebducted and about the hero, Humble Walker who works for an organization of people trying to save the girls. Humble Walker has eyes with vortexes that light up and he seems to move in double time. The vortex eyes weren't very well explained, were we just supposed to guess how he had this power? And why wasn't he able to use his powers effectively all the time? All the same, Walker was strong and memorable. I really liked him, but the women characters weren't as likeable. Also, I'm not sure what was up with the women--Dax not trusting Kat, which seemed suspicous but was it just meant to throw readers off about who was really a turncoat? The end was a surprise. I can't wait for the next book in this series. less
