review 1: So it was like a Cinderella story with quite a lot of angst. I actually liked the book but there were few, maybe small things, that annoyed me to no end. First of all - narration in present tense. I hate it. But since I started the book I finished it. It was a good story but the narration killed much of the potential for me.And one more thing that ticked me of a bit. Everybody hollered... Couldn't they scream, cry, shout, yell for a change? English is not my native language but hollering makes me think about rowdy men in a noisy place. As for the ending, it was a bit over the top. Seriously. I don't want to spoil it for who hasn't read the book yet, but it was overdone in my opinion.
review 2: I absolutly adored this book! It was hot, sexy and NO ONE WAS ANNOYIN
... moreG! As a matter of fact, both the hero and the heroine totally had their shit together and actually made me feel like a proud mother...okay maybe not mother, maybe the hot younger friend of the mother that was totally proud for her friend's kids...I mean, right off the bat, BAMN! We get hit in the face (both us and the heroine (sadly)) with how great this book is. The author did an outstanding job of writing a book writing about a woman who was a survivor of a horrific childhood and later rape/abuse from her husband. It was written in a way that you felt you were growing with the heroine through her trials of survival. You could tell the author really did her research on crisis survivors. And DAYUM GINA do not even get me started on the hotness that is so fitfully named Blaze. Whew! I think I constantly was squirming in my seat reading about him and their budding relationship. The side characters were a great addition and did not take away from anything. I love how the heroine's character did not go in different directions. She was growing as a woman, as a person and didn't waiver. Thats excellent work from the author as sometimes characters tend to do things the author spent chapters making us believe they wouldn't do...so kudos on that author.Great storyline of the alpha man taking care of his woman and great story line of a woman learning to become a woman who can love, her family and a man. Can't wait for more from this author! If you like HEA, no cheating, hot sexy alphaness and a good ol' story of takin it back...this book is for you! less
