review 1: I have never had it happen before to me the way it did with this book but I started out thinking this had to be a 4 rating. Then, as I read on, the rating slipped to a 3. Then, by the time I was finished with the book, it was a 2. I know you might think I should average this out but my disappointment at this slide convinced me that the rating should stay at 2. One reason for the slide was that there were a handful of times when the characters behaved inconsistent with the author's depiction of them up to those points in the story.
review 2: Bad part: a little too gushy. Had a good overall topic--unhealthy relationships--but the author could have done a better job. Also I didn't know this was an LDS-culture book. Surprised to hear all about Alpine and Draper... more. A little too much for me. Finally the proof reading was terrible. Seriously, too many errors to ignore. Ruined scenes for me.Good part: fast, easy read. Entertaining. Characters were good enough to have me invested in the story.I'll maybe pick up another one of her books if I need a quick, easy read during the summer. less
