review 1: A friend of mine gave me this book to read. It is not a book I would normally read but I'm glad I did. Three best friends are having money problems in this book. Tiffany, who is young and recently married with a charge card problem, Jess who is married who has a husband that just lost his job and Rachel who is divorced raising 2 children. They all have money problems so they have to cut corners. Cut corners they do. Jess has to find a job so her family can continue living near her friends, Tiffany has to pay down her charge cards before her husband leaves her and Rachel has to find a full time teaching position. To get them thru they form a support group called Small Changes. Rachel starts a blog posting what the three are doing to cut corners and giving tips out.... more If you want to know what else these 3 ladies do read the book a fast and quick read.
review 2: Small Change is by Sheila Roberts, a Goodreads author. It is a unique book in that it deals with finance. Three friends find themselves in a monetary bind for different reasons. Tiffany is addicted to using a credit card and runs up two more cards which her husband does not know about. She uses spending as a crutch to fill the space caused by her miscarriage. However, she only buys good bargains. Jessica's husband loses his job and is unable to find another one. Now this stay-at-home mom must now enter the workforce if anyone will hire her. Her passion is music and she joins a girl band to make additional money. Rachel faces hardship due to a divorce where her dentist husband hid his income from the courts. Now he uses his money to bribe his kids into coming to see him. Rachel spends money she doesn't have to try to buy her kids love too. Together the three friends try to curb their spending sprees and get their lives back on track. less
