review 1: I feel like I did not understand half of the book and could not really connect with it. Of course the impossible love between a teacher and her pupil is beautiful to read, but the story was not that easy to follow. How did their relation develop for example? Why is she attracted to a little boy? Also sometimes the switching between past and present only became clear to me half a page later. The actual scenes of them being together are too few and too far inbetween in my opinion, the book consists mostly of the daily life of the boy, which is hard enough to follow with all the specific "sea words" thrown in. It wasn't bad, but not that great either.
review 2: Uff, estoy triste y disgustada a la vez. Este libro reencarnaba todas mis fantasías. Ese cliché tan an... moretiguo como el tiempo que no me canso de leer. Sin embargo, no me despertó nada, ni el romance, ni la química ¿Hubo acaso química? Ufff, fueron solos hechos, uno tras otros, me pareció más una crónica que una novela de amor y descubrimiento de la adolescencia a la adultez.En resumidas cuentas, no sentí nada, ni siquiera pena por la tragedia. less
