review 1: Nate, Kayla, and Stone all worked for the same private security service. Stone was scheduled to testify in a murder trial. He was under protective custody of the Hawkeye Agency. Stone was a cranky, stubborn Dom and Nate was definitely his submissive. They had a history that went back years. Kayla wanted to explore their world of D/s. To say that Stone and Nate were agreeable would be an understatement. But how would protecting Stone and playing with BDSM work especially when they were beginning to fall for each other? This book was fun and extremely sexy. The relationship between the three characters was hot, funny, frustrating, and loving. Awesome book.
review 2: Based on story alone, I’d probably rate this one with 3 stars. Based on the BDSM and
... more heat level, it would definitely be 5 stars. So, in the middle it is!I wanted to know so much more about the Hawkeye organization and work they do. There was clearly a lot more history among the 3 main characters, especially Nate and Wolf, and I was craving more (both before and following this book). The suspense part of this book with Nate and Kayla volunteering to protect Wolf in the face of a potentially deadly trial totally had me in its grip and then frustrated the heck out of me when glossed over as things came to a climax. But, speaking of climaxes, the erotic action was hot! Wolf is every inch the Dom – very Alpha and unable to give up a thread of control for more than 20 seconds. Nate clearly adored Wolf and would literally do anything to please his Dom. I do wish that Wolf would have been a little more generous on the emotional side of things (don’t hold your breath for gushy romantic declarations), but at least his actions for the most part seemed to speak for him. There was some very interesting CBT action and heavier BDSM for Nate since he was already an established sub. For Kayla, Wolf toned things down. It was all very delightful! :)I wish there were more m/m action in the rest of the series – I’d be all over it. I will probably still read the other books just because I do love the BDSM genre and I found the m/f combination in this book exciting vs. annoying. less
