BDSM, contemporary erotic romance.Hunting Holly by Belinda McBride - DNF (Skimmed through 1/2-3/4 of the story) I'm not a fan of a non-submissive being made to submit and didn't care for the dynamic of the characters. BDSM, Paranormal, Ménage, Erotic romance.Welcome to the Dark Side by Cherise Sinclair - 4 Stars (Loved the hero Virgil. He and Summer were great for each other. BDSM, Erotica, Contemporary Romance).
review 2: There are three books in this anthology and by far, the best is Welcome to the Dark Side by Cherise Sinclair. I read the first paragraph and was taken aback by who the MC was going to be, Virgil? He was worried when he ... morerealised his cousin was getting involved in the BDSM scene was he? Yes, he was and his difficulty dealing with his feelings towards BDSM are dealt with in this book. The Hunt brothers have given him an introduction but he takes a trip to the city and visits Dark Haven to find out more. The idea of dominating someone and hurting them goes against all he's been brought up to believe is right and against everything he does on a daily basis, he's meant to be a protector as a police officer, he's not meant to observe pain being given or want to give it?"I have a problem with the idea of bondage, let alone hurting anyone. I was raised to protect women. Hell, it's my job."Xavier, owner of Dark Haven, challenged his thinking saying is it wrong to do this if this is what a sub is wanting or even needing? It's his own conscience battling with his dominant instincts "all his cop instincts shouted for him to get his cuffs out and start arresting people. Yet the dominant in him noted that the scenes were hot as hell."He fits right in to Dark Haven on wild west night, and is paired up with Summer in one of the theme games. She has been hurt and abused by a previous dom and is scared. They help each other find out what they want and that it is ok to want it.I like Virgil and the permanent personal debate regarding his thoughts and actions. Summer is a challenge for him and they make a lovely couple. If the book was only this story it would be 4/5, the other stories drag it down.A Good sub Would... by Sierra Cartwright - There's nothing more to this story than the training of a sub over a week and the steps to do that, so don't expect a detailed plot. It is a good read though.Hunting Holly by Belinda McBride - I DNF this, as I've said before, paranormal just isn't my thing and paranormal BDSM is even weirder. less
