review 1: The four star review applies only to Simon Says : Mine. But I will talk about all of the books.I really didn't like Met Her Match. It had nothing to do with the pain sl*t thing. It was more that there was no story. There could have been a great storyline but it fizzled out and read more like a BDSM 101 user's guide. This is not the first Sierra Cartwright book I have read but I won't read anymore.Educating Evangeline was just odd. The author is trying to shove a paranormal romance into an existing series. I don't mind PNR but it just didn't work for me in this case. Secondly the romance felt forced and rushed. If you have to make excuses in the book that werewolf romances are quick, then you are moving the story too fast. But Simon Says : Mine redeemed the book so... more that I don't feel that it was a waste. Ms. Sinclair writes a great book. While the book was short and starts on the same night that the other stories did, the story branches out over time and gives a fast romance but more believable than the others. Rona was actually acting like she was submissive and not just playing at it. There was her internal conflict at jumping into a new relationship after a divorce. The only thing that would have been nice would be to make this longer to understand more about their lives outside the club.
review 2: There are three stories in this compilation and I have mixed feelings which given an overall 3/5 stars.Met Her Match (A Hawkeye Story) by Sierra Cartwright - I've not read books by Sierra Cartwright before. As this book goes, and I believe it's a short story part of a longer trilogy, it's more sex than story, but the story had me intrigued. Both main characters work for Hawkeye a security company hired to guard the elite. They have been partnered together and she wants more than a work partnership. I was interested enough by the overall plot and writing that I have bought the 3 main books in this trilogy.Educating Evangeline by Belinda McBride - Paranormal is not my scene and paranormal BDSM seemed just bizarre. I not sure how I suspend belief when I read fiction, I get thoroughly lost in a plot, but with paranormal I just have 'yeah right, as if' in my mind as I read.Simon Says: Mine by Cherise Sinclair - this book was the reason I bought the trilogy. We've met Simon before in Master of the Mountain, he's an experienced dom in Dark Haven. Rona is an unexperienced sub who goes to the club to experiment. She's newly divorced and has decided not to get into the trap of a relationship again, she needs to play the field, not get attached and risk disappointment. She and Simon hit it off but she takes persuasion to have more than just one night with Simon. As always, Cherise Sinclair has designed interesting, whole characters. i can picture them as I read, they chemistry is obvious and I like Rona's sense of humour. less
