review 1: What a serious deviation from what I usually read. However, thank god I read it! With a collaboration of angst, turmoil and overall astonishment, I fell in love with Lex. S.K. Logson floored me in this epic and unconventional love story. Each character was very well comprised and written. I could feel myself be captured by Lex and the tragedies that came felt like my own. Throw in a good man, Gage and dashingly handsome Linc, and tbis story makes for almost sweet dreams. Of course not all is kind and good. This book touches on the society rules of "conventional" relationships. More so, it spotlights that just because it's not exactly as we would have our lives, doesn't mean it won't work for someone else. I applaud the author for taking those steps. It certainly opened m... morey own eyes to any bias I may have. I took a look at life through the eyes of Lex and found myself left wanting. I could not ever fathom going through anything Lex did and still maintaining my composure. Kudos to the author in what I consider life lesson writing. While this is a stand alone, it's the first part in the Unconventional Hearts series. If the rest of the series is anywhere near as great as Lex is... I personally will be first in line to read them all! 5 stars all the way!
review 2: Complimentary copy provided by author for an honest review.This is definitely a story that intrigued me, and had me thrown for a few loops! I was not expecting all the twists and Lex's big secret, maybe I would have if I had read other reviews, etc. But I never allow myself to read reviews of a book prior to reading, so my judgement is not clouded by what others are thinking.Lex is a successful business owner in a small town, and single, since she doesn't date, after suffering from some of the most horrendous abuse a person could go through , you could probably understand why. Her best friend Roni finally talks her into setting up an online dating profile, and enter Suit Master... At first Lex seems to like Suit Master but then turns cold when she thinks he's too good to be true, but that doesn't stop the Suit Master from pursuing her. She also has Gage enter her life and a db attorney for a company suing hers, and as much as I did not like Gage at first her really grew on me and I ended up loving him. You will need to wait out the part of not liking Gage... trust me on this!A lot of secrets are unveiled, and Lex's big secret seems to not be a secret the person she's afraid to reveal it to. When everything goes down and we find out who Suit Master is, I wasn't as mad at the person who helped orchestrate it as I was when that same person let people know about Lex's secret!This story is raw, and beautiful, and I truly liked it a lot.The characters in this book are beautifully written, and you will definitely enjoy this book if you're looking for something different than the ordinary erotic books out there. I am definitely looking forward to Lincolns story and to see what's going on in his world, especially after all the crap at the end of this book!Now please be warned, there is a strong LBGT theme in this book, and it may take you by surprise, this was the first book in that type of genre that I had read so I was a little bit shocked at some stuff, but over all really enjoyed this book and hope you all will too. less
