review 1: This was... weird, and I didn't totally like it, but she did a good job because I wasn't able to predict the ending at all, but once it happened, it totally made sense.It's set in the late 1800s at a boarding school (voluntary, not mandatory) for Indian girls in Oklahoma. (Apparently the Indian experience was quite different in Oklahoma from how it was here in Oregon (or else the book is just wildly historically inaccurate) and that was hard for me to get around. I did think it was interesting overall, and that's a type of setting I'd like to see explored more.
review 2: I received this book from goodreads. At first I didn't know what to expect as I am not used to reading books which are set in the past but I soon adapted to it.I liked the plot and the fact tha... moret it kept me guessing throughout the book. I liked how parts of the book was very fast paced. I liked how w we didn't know Willies secret to the very end unlike most books where you can easily guess the ending this book kept me interested and ended very differently to what I had expected (A VERY GOOD DIFFERENTLY) However I didn't like the fact that the pace slowed down very quickly after one ghostly appearance happened I would have liked to have known a bit more about the ghost haunting the school and a bit more about Cale and Ella. Overall I found this book interesting with a few fast paced sections that kept me reading but a lot of slow sections without anything particularly interesting happening. less
