review 1: originally written for lovelybooks, now translated for goodreads. Read in 2009.It’s a story about a girl that comes from Italy to Germany to study. Her parents cannot support her, she does not get a support of the german government and her husband is a no-good. Short of money, she starts to work in a brothel. The author describes very openly their experiences, feelings and fears. The book has its ups and downs. It’s also shocking because you can only imagine how many young girls engage in prostitution every day because of lack of money. Fucking Berlin is varied by several short portraits of the characters and the dramatic, authentic word choice. She shows the human side behind the whore. Rossi's intention seems to be to demand an understanding of the whores of this wor... moreld. She’s not embellish anything, not pretend anything, just showing the daily situation of thousands of women. For me it lacked a bit of love and eroticism, maybe not " at work " , but that as background and redemption story it would have been nice.
review 2: Oстави ме със смесени чувства тази книга. Чете се на един дъх обаче. Не беше лоша, малко ми е трудно да разбера как и защо някой би я оценил като гениална. Честно казано ми беше трудно да я разбера. Цялата книга беше изпълнена с оправдания и само оправдания... Явно е най-лесно да утешиш гузната си съвест с тях. И все пак бих я препоръчала на приятели тъй като е много описателна и те пренася в един по-различен начин на живот. Дори да не ти е по мярка. Така де, три точки са ок като оценка. less
