review 1: Ok so the blurb under the cover does not even begin to describe how awesome this book is. This book is.... Kate Daniels + Wird Sisters + Meredith Gentry but without all the awkward slutiness. Yep thats about it. Now, to tell you about how awesome this book really is. Raven is a "supernatural " conduit who works special liaison cases with LAPD. She keeps her life under the radar because of things that happened in her past. All of that changes when she walks into a supernatural club and saves a werewolf from his horrible fate as a slave. Along with saving the werewolf, she gets his gaurdian. Might I mention they are both extremely hot. Between working a dangerous case with a serial killer who has taken a fancy to shifters and being thrust into the spotlight after being a g... moreood Samaritan, Raven has to come to terms about who she is and to learn to trust those around her. Spoiler alert, she never does. Ok so there is some serious sexual tension in the book between.... Every living breathing male in Raven's vicinity. I wouldn't say it's slutty like Meredith Gentry but it does get a little annoying . Also , through out the entire book Raven is concerned about becoming a monster and or losing control of her abilities. Hey! We get it already! Super strong bad ass female with lots of power and potential to take over the city of La or the Republic of Russia. Sure she's got a horrible past and it has completely tramautized her and left her unable to trust , but with all those HOT supportive people who are willing to protect you even thought they barely know you, I would think you had time to heal. Excuse the run on sentances and the ranting. All in all the book is pretty f*cking awesome and so is the second. Raven definitely has some serious issues she needs to work out but whatever, awesome kick ass female, hot dudes and a solid plot are all I need to make me happy. Read this book if you enjoy Kate Daniels, Wird Sisters, the toned down version of Meredith Gentry or just urban fantasy in general without the cliche PI background.
review 2: What to say about Electric Storm? -considers-I loved it. Really really loved it. I bought it after borrowing BloodSworn from a friend because it sounded interesting. I'm so glad I did. I liked reading about the world, about the characters, about the mystery. It sucked me in and kept me going. I devoured it in one sitting. And now I'm dying wishing that I had the second book. Especially after reading the sneak peak preview from Electric Moon.I loved the character interaction. All the characters. Not just Taggert and Jackson but Durant and Dina and London and Dominic. I only wish we could have seen more character interaction without as much constantly scrambling and troubleshooting. We didn't really get to see Raven interact with anyone that wasn't hurried or ended prematurely because of a problem of one kind or another.Selfishly I'm sure the book wasn't long enough -wink-. I can't wait for the next book. I'll be frantically searching for more information until I have the next book in hand. Now for my warnings. I don't recall any real offensive swearing so no issues there. There were definitely some sensual scenes involved, highly charged sexual energy but there so no actual sex scenes. Which kinda shocked me since it seemed like there would be. So there is no need to be on the lookout if sex scenes bother you.I highly recommend this book. less
