review 1: 3.5 stars. I wanted to love this book I really did. It started off so well with a great story line and interesting characters. The main characters meet and get to slowly know each other and then it's a rush to finish the book. All the character and relationship building is thrown out the window for danger and insentient soul deep love. I wouldn't be as disappointed if there hadn't been so much promise. So much more could've been done to build the world, including dynamics btw shifters, witches, vampires and relationships. There was enough material for at least 2 books if not 3. With everything crammed in the last bit of the book the ending falls a little flat and sudden. I might read another book by this author she has great ideas.
review 2: 3 1\2A self-publish... moreed UF, BloodSworn gave me a few strong deja-read moments that overall did not detract much from the pleasure of reading it. There's a nice plot, with some world-building and quite a dose of romance. It's good to know that, at least in UF, heroines and heroes can keep their pants on and check their safety first. Even if they were firmly in the field of classic UF hero and heroine (they are both alphas and she as a unique power etc.), the characters were interesting to read and well rounded. It was good to notice that a strong adversary did remain a strong warrior woman and did not make a villainess. :)Notice that there were a few typos and a few confusing moments (at least for me).I was intrigued by a sneak peak at the book on Raven. But I admit that the price was a bit too high for a self pub. @5$ I expect the same editing of a "published" book (or close enough). less
