review 1: i started to read this book with high hopes, because the premise of a nightmarish hotel sounded interesting. I enjoyed the beginning of the book, and the descriptions of the setting, but the story lacked energy from the beginning, and the intensity decreased from there. My tension, during the incredibly long middle section about a hellish cat infestation, was not the enjoyable kind of tension, and that part of the book killed off my interest in reading the rest.
review 2: I was really expecting this to be an amazing horror story! How can you go wrong? Creepy hotel, death stories, weird and strange tenants... Yeah, I was very disappointed. I was not scared in the least and actually had a really hard time finishing it. I kept waiting for it to get better, but eac... moreh chapter went on a weird tangent that didnt seem to make sense. I dont recommend reading this book to anyone. It didnt even have a decent ending to justify it. Moments of excitement followed by pages upon pages of boring. less
