review 1: I hate to give a low rating but sometimes I just can't give more than 1 star. The main reason of my 1 star for this book is: I was so bored I was wishing all the time something would happen... something that never happened.I wish it was half of the number of pages.It's sooooo long... not in a good way. I never complain about the page numbers, but HOW those pages are spend.Nothing happened in 80% of those pages.That's why I didn't enjoy it... nothing, to a inclusive end. It piss me off a lot. Less talk, more action and a true end. That would make me like it.So yeah, this book is not for me. And this book certainly is not.And I don't want to keep reading. I lost my interest (and fear a sequel would be like this one).BUT attention, I don't want to trash the book. It has an am... moreazing world, with a GREAT shifter descriptions. I love all the detail, of HOW a human can shift to human to a bird, or a feline or anything. Each feather that appear is explained, how and were. I like it. I would NEVER complain about those details. It was perfect and I still believe this book (to be fair this series) is very original in that way. I never read a shifter story with so many details about the creatures and their world.
review 2: To be honest I'm rather disapointed. I've read the WIP version of the story and it had me hooked. I myself couldn't think of a way to improve the story, except the grammar error here and there or a few awkward sentences. The author apparantly could think of a few ways to improve, and while that has worked well in the first book. In this book it went wrong. Some of the changes made did add something to the story, others did didn't really add anything, and some ruined the story. Three times that I have noticed did something happen in the book, that did not happen in the WIP, that contradicts with something that is said later that did happen in the WIP version. It's just sloppy edditing, but it makes the characters look like complete idiots and interupts the flow of the story. I'm also a bit unhappy about the fact that Sandy's gift was removed, because of that the story definately lost something.I would have given the WIP version 4 stars because there was some room for improvement, but this version I can only give 2 stars. :'( less
