review 1: So this is shelved on my "crazy covers" shelf because it looks like it belongs on a 50 Shades of Grey knock-off. Corporate smexy times. Not quite giving off the "mermaid" vibe, you know?Anyway, it was a cute little short story but there's very little explanation about the mermaid stuff. Or who tried to kill the MC. Or anything, really. I'd say this is a shallow read, a little too long for a bubble bath read, but maybe a breezy afternoon in a hammock read.
review 2: So... I guess I didn't read the whole synopsis of this book or if I did I didn't take the word Mermaid seriously. But the main heroine is definitely a mermaid living on land. It was a great story. It was entertaining and a quick read. It was also a light read - it didn't hurt my heart every time
... moreI flipped the page, which was good because I didn't want a heavy reading. The reason for my four stars then? Well, it kind of reminded me about a movie... you know the one with Tom Hanks? I think its called Splash. Yeah, it reminded me of that movie - except there wasn't a time constraint on the girl for living on land. And I guess it wasn't super similar to the movie when you think about it but for some reason I kept envisioning that movie with every word I read and it pulled me out of the novel just a little bit. But all in all this was a great read. The characters were enjoyable and the plot was enjoyable. Give it a chance and read it. And to add to it, there was just enough steam to make my dreams of mermaids as a child become my dreams of mermaids and sexy men now as an adult. less

I liked the story but thought it lacked much excitement or adventure. Good short read.
