review 1: Susan Fraser King succeeds beyond expectation in imaginatively recreating a segment in the life of an 11th century Queen/Saint. Before reading, I had no particular interest in the period, setting, or character. But King transmits her fascination with Margaret in such an engaging way that I'm fascinated, too. So a historical figure I knew nothing about has become real in my mind. This is a worthy outcome of writing historical fiction, and King achieves it beautifully.

... moreenjoyed the story and the different characters. The story told by Eva's point of view was especially interesting. Its hard to tell if she actually existed in history but I very much enjoyed her and margarets story. less
