review 1: Frances Ellerby finds herself in Stiltsville, a community of houses built on pilings in the middle of Biscayne Bay. On the dock of a stilt house, she meets the house's owner, Dennis DuVal and moves to Miami to be with him. Frances and Dennis marry and have a child—but rather than growing complacent, they continue to face the challenges of intimacy in the Biscayne Bay. A poorly written and boring book.

I never felt like there was anything compelling about any of the characters, even the protagonist, no real reason to read or care about her story above others. less
