review 1: I wanted to give this book a higher rating but i couldn't. I really didn't like it, I finished the book and was unsatisfied.I loved the world and the premise of the story but all the actions she took were for her brother who is clearly a scumbag that doesn't really care about her. Also the pacing of the story was a bit odd to me. Things would happen and it was like what? why.... oh now he's dead kay. I really wanted to like this book but I didn't :/ .I feel bad about it but I can't help that I didn't get to enjoy the story
review 2: At first I was dreading reading this one since it was a first in a new series. I wasn't looking forward to a long narrative about a new world. Surprisingly it wasn't overwhelming as I thought it would be.I appreciated how it not... more only focused on Alec and Lucy's relationship but it also Lucy's ties to her brother Joey and gives us some details about dragon politics and their society.I immensely enjoyed Alec's character. He was an enigma. He was magnanimous and commanding when dealing with his people yet was endearing and romantic with Lucy. Like most alpha- males he was severely possessive but he knew his boundaries. He always gave Lucy a choice.I admired Lucy's as well. Despite being raised in a life of depravity, she took it upon herself not to follow in the footsteps of her father. She persevered on her own and became successful in her career. Her loyalty to her brother was also admirable although she seemed too trusting. She constantly turned a blind eye and ignored his meandering ways.In general, I found Luck of the Dragon captivating, the suspense and romance was very well balanced. I for one, am looking forward to the next part of this series. less
