review 1: This could have been a fairly decent book if our heroine wasn't a psychotic bipolar swinging from cringing inferiority to manic Zena like warrior. (I only wish that was an exaggeration.) By the end of this book, I wanted to kill the heroine, which is never a good thing. We have all the classic historical romance items here. Damsel in distress-check. Big handsome Highlander who rescues her in a marginally creative way-check..check. Angst while both figure out their feelings-check. check..check..So far so good. Nothing too exiting, but we're not in the weeds either. However, our heroine has an odd epiphany, and then has a total personality change..accompanied by the lingering..odd decision making choices, and wild manic mood swings. One or the other might have been interesti... moreng, but both were just too much.We won't even go into our hero. Who wasn't really there..we instead a cardboard place keeper, marked "our hero". I swear I just finished the audiobook and I can't even remember his name. I'm only writing a review because this book was just so dumb. 13 hours of my life I will never get back. I bought the other two in the series, but I think I'm going to skip 2 and give 3 a try. If it doesn't totally suck I'll try #2. I'm not hopeful. This one goes back to Audible. I should have listened to the negative reviews.
review 2: This book is sweet, fun and enjoyable in so many ways. Aishlinn is a wonderful character, who at times can be a bit harsh on herself, but once you understand her past, it all makes things more clear. Low self esteem is hard to overcome. Duncan is about as hot and yummy as they come, and I want a Duncan of my very own. Ms Tisdale does a wonderful job of building up the tension between Aishlinn and Duncan, and it makes you want to cheer once they do! Although this is Suzan's first book and has some editing errors, they don't detract from the story. I am looking forward to reading more of Suzan's work, as I have heard from other's, each book is better than the next. less

Loved it. It was funny and romantic. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

You think I'd know better even in my current quest for non-taxing entertainment.
