review 1: A very good story of strength, healing and new beginnings. The only problem I had was with how Gus managed to turn every conversation to be about him. I get that he's an addict and I tried to be sympathetic about his health issues, but he just went on and on about the past and I ended up skimming quite a bit. Nevertheless, I still found the book to be engaging, and kudos to the author for creating an atypical, broken character and making me root for him.
review 2: A romance between Gus, a recovering drug addict and Morris, an older business man. The story is told from Gus's point of view and we are shown some of this road to recovery and getting his life back, as well as the start to a relationship between him and Morris.I liked the story and my only problem wa... mores that since we only get Gus's POV we only learn about Morris through his interaction with Gus so I didn't really get a sense of where his feeling for Gus are coming from. less
