review 1: If you like your mysteries dark and twisty, this book is for you. A book of two halfs: the first half is slowly tortuous and leaves you wrung out (nearly called time on it on a number of occasions); the second half causes you to do double-take after double take, challenging one's understanding of the first half. The twists and turns keep coming right until the end. Most of the characters are hard to understand and even the 'good guys' not very pleasant. Glad I've read it and glad I've finished it.... Definitely a walk on the dark side.
review 2: Thrilling book, a little unbelievable the part where Jessica goes off with a stranger, but there are so many twists you can’t always get your head round them, but all in a good way. Jessica the main character, she has
... more been kidnapped and what happens during the kidnapping and after it, is suspenseful, surpriseful and dark, very dark, I was surprised on more than one occasion. The book is written from various different points of view, Jessica the main one and also the Liaison Officer who is helping out her family who also has her own thoughts about the kidnappingIt is also written in two different parts, one, where Jessica is kidnapped and the other after. At the end of the first part, the book could finish there but there is so much more… more excitement and darkness, moments that will make you go wow. I had no idea what was going to happen. You might find yourself being sucked into this book, make sure you have time to yourself cause you won’t want to put it down. Dark characters, dark moments. Fantastic book.Highly recommended. less
